East Dallas Painting: Bringing premium craftsmanship to the homes and businesses of Plano since 2014.
Proudly Serving the Plano Community
East Dallas Painting has spent years working in homes and businesses across Plano, and it’s become one of the communities we know best.
With nearly 300,000 residents, Plano is one of the largest cities in the DFW Metroplex, yet it still has that pocket-by-pocket, neighborhood feel, from the historic charm of Haggard Park and downtown Plano to the newer developments around Legacy West and The Boardwalk.
Whether we’re refreshing a New Traditional brick home in Deerfield, working on a Tudor-influenced property in Whiffletree or Forest Creek Estates, or updating a Mediterranean-style home near Willow Bend, we’ve painted a wide range of Plano’s architectural landscape. We also serve homes near Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve, Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, and throughout the Legacy corridor, bringing the same careful prep, durable exterior-grade paints, and clean interior finishes to every Plano neighborhood we work in.
So if you need professional painting services, please call on East Dallas Painting. From Deerfield to Legacy West, we treat every Plano neighborhood like it’s our own.
Architectural & Home Style Expertise in Plano
Plano’s architectural landscape reflects the city’s major growth period from the 1970s through the 2000s, which produced a wider mix of styles than many of its neighboring suburbs. From New Traditional multistory brick homes in established neighborhoods like Deerfield and Forest Creek Estates to Tudor Revival properties in Whiffletree, and from Mediterranean and Spanish-influenced stucco homes near Willow Bend to the handful of genuinely historic Craftsman and Victorian homes in the Haggard Park Heritage District, downtown Plano’s only designated historic neighborhood, each style calls for a different approach. At East Dallas Painting, we take these differences seriously, tailoring our approach to the specific style, age, and materials of your home rather than treating every job the same.
Each architectural style common in Plano comes with its own set of painting considerations:
- New Traditional brick homes (1980s-2000s): multistory facades with decorative windows and large entryways, often requiring more detailed trim and cutting-in work than a single-story home
- Tudor Revival homes: steeply pitched rooflines and decorative half-timbering that need careful masking and, where applicable, wood-safe coatings that won’t trap moisture in structural timber accents
- Mediterranean and Spanish-influenced homes: stucco exteriors requiring flexible, breathable paint to handle Texas heat and expansion, plus wrought iron and arched doorway trim needing rust-resistant metal coatings
- Historic Craftsman and Victorian homes (Haggard Park Heritage District): original wood siding, porches, and trim on homes built before 1978, requiring EPA RRP lead-safe certified preparation and often historically appropriate color palettes
- Ranch-style homes (1970s-80s): wide eaves, pitched roofs, and cathedral ceilings common to this era, with wood trim and fascia that should be checked for rot before repainting
What our Plano customers say about us
Posted on Google Zyreese GuyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I hired them to repaint a ceiling that had uneven color from aging. At first, I didn’t think it would change much, but they suggested a brighter coat. During the job, I noticed a faint streak forming, and they smoothed it immediately. There was a slight delay between coats, but they explained why it was necessary. The ceiling now looks evenly bright, and the room feels a bit more open because of it.Posted on Google Joe ATrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. East Dallas Painting Co., came highly recommended. I needed my old wooden window frames replaced. Michael Black came by and wrote up a detailed estimate. I hired East Dallas Painting to do the job due to the price and detailed estimate. I was very satisfied with the finished job. East Dallas Painting was punctual, professional and worked clean. I plan on utilizing their services in the future.Posted on Google Barbara KilpatrickTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They did such an amazing job! They repaired several damaged walls, trim, and windowsills in addition to painting. They even managed to match some very unusual faux painted trim. Mike was quick to respond throughout the project and accommodated some last minute changes. Their pricing was very reasonable, as well. I will definitely use them again for future projects!Posted on Google Jordan CargillTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mikes team worked on our exterior house fascia, and I really appreciated his customer service and promptness. He did a quality job, is responsive, and works to make things right. His team brought some new life to an old house, which included some wood rot replacement.Posted on Google Heather DavisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Would hire again. They painted a rental unit for me.-Kim JoppiePosted on Google Richard SaundersTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. East Dallas Painting just finished a job painting and performing some repairs to my detached garage. As originally discussed the work was to take about two days. The job took twelve days from the day they started until the day the job was completed. One day they didn't get to the job sight until around 4:00 and left about half an hour later. I don't know why they even bothered to make the trip for half an hours work. It isn't clear what took so long but to be honest there were some delays because of weather. Even considering the weather it could have been completed at least four days earlier. The written estimate submitted by the painter calls for SW super paint which retails at about $76.00. It was on sale at $53.00 but when they completed the job they left the remaining paint in a Behr Premium Plus can which retails for about $30.00. It appears they used a lesser quality paint. At the beginning when the job was being estimated it was clear that some of the wood needed to be replaced which was done but one piece of trim at the bottom of the north west side corner of the building was missing. It seems that even a cursory glance would have seen this and about 18" of wood trim would have been replaced. That wasn't specifically mentioned in the estimate but the contractor should have at least mentioned it and if necessary adjusted the price of the written estimate. Communications could have been improved. Between when the job was started and when the job was completed I often went several days without being contacted by East Dallas Painting. One day I got a text message after noon saying they wouldn't be out that day. In fairness to East Dallas Painting I was satisfied with the work (except for the trim). I do believe the work was satisfactory. I may use them again.Posted on Google Dario SalasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Frequently Asked Questions
My home is in the Haggard Park Heritage District - are there restrictions on exterior paint colors?
Plano's Haggard Park neighborhood is the city's only designated Heritage District, and homes there are often subject to historic preservation guidelines. We recommend checking with the City of Plano's historic preservation office before finalizing exterior color choices, and we're happy to provide samples and documentation to support any approval process.
I have a Tudor-style home in Whiffletree or Forest Creek Estates - how do you handle the decorative timber accents?
Tudor-style half-timbering needs a different approach than standard trim. We assess whether the existing timber accents are painted or stained, use products that won't trap moisture against the wood, and take extra care masking the contrast between timber and stucco or brick.
My home has stucco - what should I know before repainting?
Stucco needs flexible, breathable paint that can handle Texas heat and humidity without cracking or peeling prematurely. We also inspect for existing cracks or damage before painting, since stucco issues are easier and cheaper to fix before a fresh coat than after.
Is my Plano home old enough to have lead-based paint?
Possibly. While much of Plano's housing dates from the 1980s onward, some neighborhoods (particularly near downtown and Haggard Park) have homes built well before 1978. If yours is one of them, we follow EPA RRP lead-safe certified practices for any sanding or scraping.
Do you paint homes in Plano's newer, master-planned communities as well as the older neighborhoods?
Yes - we work across Plano's full range, from established 1980s neighborhoods like Deerfield to newer developments near Legacy West and the far north side of the city. Newer homes often have different material combinations (fiber cement siding, brick, and stucco accents together), which we account for in prep and product selection.
