Your Local, Trusted, Professional Painters in Plano

East Dallas Painting: Bringing premium craftsmanship to the homes and businesses of Plano since 2014.

Proudly Serving the Plano Community

East Dallas Painting has spent years working in homes and businesses across Plano, and it’s become one of the communities we know best.

With nearly 300,000 residents, Plano is one of the largest cities in the DFW Metroplex, yet it still has that pocket-by-pocket, neighborhood feel, from the historic charm of Haggard Park and downtown Plano to the newer developments around Legacy West and The Boardwalk.

Whether we’re refreshing a New Traditional brick home in Deerfield, working on a Tudor-influenced property in Whiffletree or Forest Creek Estates, or updating a Mediterranean-style home near Willow Bend, we’ve painted a wide range of Plano’s architectural landscape. We also serve homes near Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve, Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, and throughout the Legacy corridor, bringing the same careful prep, durable exterior-grade paints, and clean interior finishes to every Plano neighborhood we work in.

So if you need professional painting services, please call on East Dallas Painting.  From Deerfield to Legacy West, we treat every Plano neighborhood like it’s our own.

Architectural & Home Style Expertise in Plano

Plano’s architectural landscape reflects the city’s major growth period from the 1970s through the 2000s, which produced a wider mix of styles than many of its neighboring suburbs. From New Traditional multistory brick homes in established neighborhoods like Deerfield and Forest Creek Estates to Tudor Revival properties in Whiffletree, and from Mediterranean and Spanish-influenced stucco homes near Willow Bend to the handful of genuinely historic Craftsman and Victorian homes in the Haggard Park Heritage District, downtown Plano’s only designated historic neighborhood, each style calls for a different approach. At East Dallas Painting, we take these differences seriously, tailoring our approach to the specific style, age, and materials of your home rather than treating every job the same.

Each architectural style common in Plano comes with its own set of painting considerations:

  • New Traditional brick homes (1980s-2000s): multistory facades with decorative windows and large entryways, often requiring more detailed trim and cutting-in work than a single-story home
  • Tudor Revival homes: steeply pitched rooflines and decorative half-timbering that need careful masking and, where applicable, wood-safe coatings that won’t trap moisture in structural timber accents
  • Mediterranean and Spanish-influenced homes: stucco exteriors requiring flexible, breathable paint to handle Texas heat and expansion, plus wrought iron and arched doorway trim needing rust-resistant metal coatings
  • Historic Craftsman and Victorian homes (Haggard Park Heritage District): original wood siding, porches, and trim on homes built before 1978, requiring EPA RRP lead-safe certified preparation and often historically appropriate color palettes
  • Ranch-style homes (1970s-80s): wide eaves, pitched roofs, and cathedral ceilings common to this era, with wood trim and fascia that should be checked for rot before repainting

Common Questions in Plano

Frequently Asked Questions

My home is in the Haggard Park Heritage District - are there restrictions on exterior paint colors?

Plano's Haggard Park neighborhood is the city's only designated Heritage District, and homes there are often subject to historic preservation guidelines. We recommend checking with the City of Plano's historic preservation office before finalizing exterior color choices, and we're happy to provide samples and documentation to support any approval process.

I have a Tudor-style home in Whiffletree or Forest Creek Estates - how do you handle the decorative timber accents?

Tudor-style half-timbering needs a different approach than standard trim. We assess whether the existing timber accents are painted or stained, use products that won't trap moisture against the wood, and take extra care masking the contrast between timber and stucco or brick.

My home has stucco - what should I know before repainting?

Stucco needs flexible, breathable paint that can handle Texas heat and humidity without cracking or peeling prematurely. We also inspect for existing cracks or damage before painting, since stucco issues are easier and cheaper to fix before a fresh coat than after.

Is my Plano home old enough to have lead-based paint?

Possibly. While much of Plano's housing dates from the 1980s onward, some neighborhoods (particularly near downtown and Haggard Park) have homes built well before 1978. If yours is one of them, we follow EPA RRP lead-safe certified practices for any sanding or scraping.

Do you paint homes in Plano's newer, master-planned communities as well as the older neighborhoods?

Yes - we work across Plano's full range, from established 1980s neighborhoods like Deerfield to newer developments near Legacy West and the far north side of the city. Newer homes often have different material combinations (fiber cement siding, brick, and stucco accents together), which we account for in prep and product selection.
