Hi, I’m Mike Black — Owner of East Dallas Painting

I grew up in Dallas and have spent most of my life here. I’m proud of our city and honored to help beautify it — one home and business at a time.

Raised in a military family, I value professionalism, respect, and accountability. You can expect a firm handshake, direct eye contact, and a thoughtful discussion about your project. I was a four-year starting scholarship athlete at a DFW university, where I developed a strong foundation in discipline, structure, and hard work. These values guide how I approach business and customer relationships today.

Early Paint Life

My passion for painting began in Pensacola, Florida, where I owned a sign and graphics business. Creating custom signs and large-scale murals gave me a deep, lasting appreciation for the graphics and painting craft. When the Great Recession struck, I returned to Dallas for a stable business climate and founded East Dallas Painting to focus on what I love most — painting.

Early Career

The first 20 years of my career were in sales and technology, selling computers, software, and managing product verticals for auction platforms. While I enjoyed the fast pace of tech sales, I came to value the simplicity of the painting business. It’s tangible, straightforward, and rooted in craftsmanship — qualities increasingly rare in today’s tech-driven world.
